Analyze the Debate
1. Set FocusFrame the inquiry with these essential questions: To what extent should fairness be considered when setting economic policy? What are other important considerations?
2. Read and DiscussHave students read the debate and then answer the following questions:

4. Writing PromptIn an essay, evaluate one of the debaters’ arguments. Assess whether the reasoning is valid and whether it’s supported with evidence. Point out biases or missing information.
5. Classroom DebateIs it fair to pay teens less than adults? Have students use the authors’ ideas, as well as their own, in a debate.
