You’ve heard of Gen Z and Generation Alpha, but this year, it’s time to make way for the new youngest generation: Babies born from 2025 through 2039 will be part of Generation Beta. A generation is a group of people born within a specific 15-to-20-year span. Members of the same generation experience major events, trends, and changes in technology at around the same age, and that can shape their views differently from those of other generations. While it’s still too soon to know exactly what Generation Beta will be like, experts predict they’ll immerse themselves in artificial intelligence even more than those who came before them and will inevitably face issues such as climate change, urbanization, and global population shifts. “Generation Beta represents the dawn of a new era,” says McCrindle, the research firm that proposed the name, which demographers have now adopted.“They will grow up in a world shaped by breakthroughs in technology, evolving social norms, and an increasing focus on sustainability and global citizenship.”
